Holy Bull (Great Above-Sharon Brown by Al Hattab)

Holy Bull was a breath of fresh air at a time when the world was searching for a champion. He was named Horse of the Year for his performances in 1994 and appeared to be on his way to another outstanding year in 1995, when tragedy struck in the 1995 Donn Handicap. In his first matchup against the up-and-comer Cigar, Holy Bull suffered a severely bowed tendon and was dramatically pulled up in the race, giving the racing world a cause for great alarm. Holy Bull never raced again but did fully recover from his injuries and is now a stallion at Jonabell Farm in Kentucky.
